November 8, 2019
On behalf of the Imlay City Schools and the Board of Education, I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to our community for its overwhelming support of the Imlay City School Bond Proposal on November 5th.
In approving the proposal, our community has ensured that generations of Imlay City youth will receive a world-class education in facilities that are safe, strong, and conducive to the very best types teaching and learning. We are both humbled and inspired by our community’s commitment to our district and our students.
Likewise, we want our community to be inspired by our commitment to honor the trust it has placed in us. We recognize our obligation to be good stewards of the resources that you, the voters, have provided. We pledge to conduct this work in a manner that will continue to inspire community trust and pride in our district.
We deeply appreciate the numerous parents, civic leaders, school personnel, alumni, business owners, community organizations, and citizens who helped shape this proposal and communicate the facts of the proposal to the wider community. Finally, I would like to extend my most sincere thanks to those individuals, businesses, and citizens’ groups – notably, Vote Yes For ICS – who actively and enthusiastically promoted the proposal’s passage.
As you can imagine, there is now a great deal of work ahead of us as we transform the vision of this proposal into reality. In the coming weeks, district leadership will be meeting with financial planners, architects, and construction managers to scale the projects and develop completion timelines. We will continue to communicate to the community during each phase of this work. Expect to hear from us with regular updates on the progress of the project.
With gratitude,
Dr. Stu Cameron
