Websites for Kids
ABCya.com is the leader in free educational kids computer games
and activities for elementary students to learn on the web. All
children's educational computer activities were created or
approved by certified school teachers. All educational games are
free and are modeled from primary grade lessons and enhanced to
provide an interactive way for children to learn.
Starfall.com opened in September of 2002 as a
free public service to teach children to read with phonics. Its
systematic phonics approach, in conjunction with phonemic
awareness practice, is perfect for preschool, kindergarten,
first grade, second grade, special education, homeschool, and
English language development (ELD, ELL, ESL). Starfall is an
educational alternative to other entertainment choices for
children.
SpellingCity is a free, educational website that
enables parents to add individualized vocabulary and spelling
lists. Children of all ages and learning abilities can use their
own personalized lists in a variety of learning activities that
help to reinforce and correct spelling and word meaning through
fun learning games.
Information for Parents
powerschool.imlay.k12.mi.us/public/home is where parents can log in to see student attendance as well as student grades/scores. Login information was mailed home to all parents at the beginning of the school year. If you need this information, please let your child's teacher know and we will make sure you have it.
The
Common Core State Standards is the groundwork for the curriculum
we follow at Weston Elementary. These Standards provide a
consistent and clear understanding of what students are expected
to learn. States across the nation have adopted these Standards.
