Students at Imlay City High School are encouraged to investigate and explore different career opportunities. From what they learn, it is hoped that students will develop an educational plan that will lead them productively toward their career goal.

Career Pathways
Career pathways are clusters of careers with similar characteristics. By identifying with a given pathway students are better able to make connections between their interests, abilities, career and educational goals.
The six career pathways are:
- Arts and Communication
- Business, Management, Marketing and Technology
- Engineering/Manufacturing and Industrial Technology
- Health Sciences
- Human Services
- Natural Resources and Agriscience

Web Based EDP
Students are being asked to develop their Educational Development Plan (EDP). An EDP is a plan of action in which the student identifies career goals and the educational pathways to achieve them. Students will create a web-based EDP. This web-based EDP is ongoing and can be changed at any time. It is available to the student after they leave high school.
